Do your parents respect your parenting rules & wishes for your own kids?

I try to pick my battles and only get firm on things really important to us.

They do-but I also appreciate their role as grandparents. I’m slack on which rules or choices I enforce with them. I prefer they not talk about politics or give the kids Mountain Dew 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

To a certain degree yes (his bedtime routine, bedtime and what he can/cannot eat). But they are much more relaxed with discipline. And I don’t expect them to be “on top of him” about things. That’s my husbands and I job

My sons only 3 months but so far so good. I tend to have very strong opinions at times and will let them be known in a respectful way and my parents appreciate that. If it's something I really do or don't want I just don't make it an option

My mom does but my grandmother does not. She thinks that safety precautions are ridiculous. Refuses to follow car seat guidelines at all or anything regarding safety in the car. She thinks spanking is necessary and I do not. She is no longer allowed to have alone time with my child. My family thinks I’m being dramatic but I do not care. It’s my job to protect my children. She still sees my daughter but isn’t allowed to be alone with her or take her anywhere.

My parents respect it and only give advice where they see I'm lacking which has helped. Other people however feel entitled to throw in their opinion with every other breath I take in everything I do with my  child starting from she " you should have given her water to drink immediately out of the womb and not stopped" to "you know nothing, we have raised many many children and grand children..." my ass.

My parents do, they’re super respectful about our rules which I’m so grateful for. My in laws  however, not so much unfortunately :( They’re pretty traditional and have a very set way of doing things and aren’t very open. We’re on okay terms now but it’s caused some issues for us in the past. All you can do really is set boundaries early on and stick to them. Try to work it out as much as you can but sometimes u gotta cut them off if it comes to it 🤷🏼‍♀️
