Please help me understand my check
So I’m supposed to be paid $166.67/daily, paid bi-weekly. I work in a school so I don’t work the weekends. I began working November 18th (today is December 21st) but my first check says “Pay Period November 24th-December 8th”. What about those days that I worked from the 18th to the 24th? The month of November I did call out once because I was sick so I went to get tested (negative) and then we had two days off for thanksgiving (I don’t get holiday pay). So from November 18th till December 21st, I’ve pretty much been working every day, supposedly making $166.67 daily, and my first check is only $806 after taxes. So a months work for $800? There must be an error right? I mean, even if it was just November 24th - December 8th like my check says, that’s still over $1.6k, not $800. And I spoke to someone who started around the same time as me. She said it took a month for her to get paid as well and her first check was over $2k. We have the same position. I don’t understand
- I am going to talk to the payroll secretary but she’s running late and I want to make sure that I don’t get lied too and that I get my money so please help.
