Has anyone taken Zofran first trimester?

My dr prescribed me zofran for my nausea. I started googling it and finding things saying it isn’t fda approved and can cause birth defects etc. thoughts? I’m so sick but now I’m nervous to take it.

The risk is so low, the benefits outweigh the risks , so that’s why it’s prescribed . 
Anything can cause birth defects , but being so sick you cannot eat and give enough proper nutrients to your baby and you will cause more damage . So taking it will be beneficial to you and your babies health

The amount of babies who end up having reactions due to this is extremely extremely low it is one of the most common medications that is actually prescribed pregnant women because of nausea. I took in the entire pregnancy because of Hg

I took it with my last two pregnancies and I have happy healthy little ones. It depends on how sick you are…. If you feel benefits out weigh possible risks.

I asked my dr about it and she said the risk is very very very low.  The only time she doesnt recommend it is if nausea is manageable.

I took it all 40 weeks through 2 of my 3 pregnancies. There was one very small study done out of another country that sorta saw increased risks but they were barely measurable. There have been many studies done since then that prove otherwise. Also, depends on your level of sickness. The women saying “I would never” are women that have been fortunate enough to not have severe hyperemesis gravidarum. 🙃

I was prescribed it but by then my nausea started to settle cause I was in my 2 trimester. I did take it with my first though he’s perfectly fine.

Yes I did at high doses via IV, and 8mg tablets 3 or 4 times a day from 4 weeks up until now at 36 weeks. Baby is absolutely fine and healthy

Nope! I took it for like 3 days then I started seeing commercials about lawsuits and birth defects. Started researching it and asked for an alternative. That's when I started taking unisom and b6 instead. It honestly worked better than Zofran. Also didn't have a nasty taste, and settled better. Plus it helped me sleep. I took this combo with both pregnancies. My morning sickness with my first was freaking terrible, just always nauseous. And it didn't go away until like 34 weeks. My second pregnancy my morning sickness was definitely more eat and barf immediately, luckily it went away by mid second trimester.
