Safety helmet?

Question

Any moms get baby a helmet for play?my baby is starting to show interest in walking (skipping crawling) do they work at all? I searched Amazon they have cute play helmets I shared my thoughts of getting her one nd her dad doesn’t like the idea 😔 any of u ladies ever used one?

I think they’re completely unnecessary. Unless you have an all tile floor there’s no need. Kids bump their heads and they learn how to avoid it for the most part.

My son had to have a helmet for his flat head and I was terrified when he got it off because he'd ram things with his head with the helmet on. Needless to say the first time he did it without the helmet he didn't do it again after that. Part of their learning process is getting bumps and bruises and learning how to navigate the real world and use their bodies. If my son hadn't needed a helmet I wouldn't have used one. I think they're unnecessary. Kids learn by cause and effect.

Only for bikes or scooters. I find them unnecessary otherwise 🤷🏻‍♀️ they are going to get bumps and bruises their entire life.

I’d pass. Not necessary at all. We did add carpet padding to our rug which covers the majority of his play space, but I feel like a helmet almost inhibits kids learning to walk. They’re going to fall. It’s part of learning. They learn to catch themselves quickly!

I didn't even know this was a thing... I'd say completely unnecessary. Cause and effect does wonders and personally that seems like an obsessive way to coddle a child... 
But in the end of it makes you feel better, you do you mama. We all raise our kids differently and that's ok! :)

We got one because we have all hard wood floor and a six year old who's constantly grabbing her sister. They have soft helmets for walking. I was against it at first but after the 100th time of baby slipping on the random step in our living room I figured I'd give it a try and was so glad I did

No, she uses one when she bikes but otherwise I see no reason to.

Super glad u came across this post, my 17m old is a super rambunctious little girl and is always falling and hitting her head some how and we have hardwood floors and being pressured by my mother to buy a soft helmet from Amazon as well, but I wasn’t sure if u should or shouldn’t.
