When to stop BC pills?

My husband and I have decided to start trying for a baby in March/April when our house is done being built. I've been on birth control pills for 10 years now and wasn't planning on going off of them until March. Because I have been on birth control for so long, I honestly don't remember how regular my normal cycles are and what is regular for me. Now I am starting to wonder if I should go off of it now so I can let me body adjust and try to navigate what my "regular" or "normal" cycle is. But at the same time, I know that sometimes you are most fertile right after you come off of birth control and that your chances of conceiving twins is higher (I know, crazy we want twins 🤪). So I guess my question is, should I go off of it now and use another method until we are ready? Or should I wait and keep taking the pills until we are ready?
Side note: we would be trying now but it’s just my husband and I who will be moving everything into the house so I don’t want to risk it and get pregnant before we move and not be able to help lift things into the house…. Which is why we would need to use another method until we are moved in and ready to start trying.

I would get off it now and use another method for the next few months! You never know how long it will take you to ovulate again/start your actual period!

Now, it can take months for your period to normalize after getting off bc. I didn’t have my period for over a year when I stopped

I would stop now or soon cus it could take a while for you body to regulate after bc. The best way to know is to track your cycle with opks to let you know when your about to ovulate and bbt to confirm ovulation and dpo. By temping will know when you ovulated, dpo, luteal phase length (is from the day after ovulation to period which stays the same each cycle give or take 1-2 days. Average length is 12-14 days give or take 1-2 days.) when period is coming by temp drop or if you miss your period and your temp stays up then there is a chance for pregnancy

I would stop taking them now or January since you will have withdrawal bleeding then a real cycle after to start trying with. There is the FAM method you can use which is the fertility awareness method which you can use a basil body thermometer to check your temperature every morning as your cycle adjust and avoid having sex on those fertile days until you are ready. It will also help you prepare for conceiving since you will be more in tune with your body. I would also start taking a good prenatal now to make sure your body has all the nutrients it needs and set up a preconception visit.
