Wash routine not working

The pocket diapers that I have aren’t fully getting cleaned. They still smell a little dirty when coming out of the wash and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.

I do a pre rinse with just water (lukewarm temp) then a wash cycle with an extra rinse on hot with seventh generation free and clear laundry detergent

Any suggestions? There aren’t stains it just doesn’t smell fresh
