What are some ways to help kids with separation anxiety?

My sisters always cry when my parents are away even if it’s for a couple hours. It always triggers my anxiety. My parents tell me to just let them cry it out (they’re both 9 btw) but I know exactly how they’re feeling and I really don’t like just leaving them alone.

How about something that smells like your parents, a shirt, let them  sleep with it. When they leave the house let them bring some thing from home, my niece when she was very little, used to have really bad separation anxiety, she has the same special blanket from when she was little, a stuffed animal, when she was little, she would have to bring something from home with her, even if it was a box of raisins in her pocket, it was comforting and soothing having some thing from home.
