I’m a news anchor and I have worked here for over a year.

Our shows are pre recorded, and not live.

Obviously we use a prompter system, so a paper script is unnecessary and I’ve never used one, and always found them messy.

I am the sole local anchor, and the other three are national, and all three use paper scripts as props.

Recently, as in 5 minutes ago, one of my bosses told my director, while I was recording, I need to start using paper scripts because everyone else does.

To news viewers, do you think it looks messy? I just don’t see a point in it.
