Are my chances with him ruined?

I’ve been officially dating this guy for 5 months after talking for a 1 1/2 years. We had problems straight off the bat that we went to couples therapy for & we both decided to have a brand new start at the beginning of October. For the past week he told me he’s done but he is confused and isn’t sure on what to do. He told me he needed space to think for a few days & I tried to give him that but I had to text him to get bc pills. & took our puppy to the vet yesterday. Yesterday I went over to drop the puppy off & he said that he’s just done. That he does have an ounce left in him that this could work but based on past experiences I haven’t changed & he doesn’t know if I will in the future & that makes him not see a future with me rn. We both agreed to meet up in 2 months but until then he said he wants his space. He also said who knows that maybe he’ll come running back to me in a few weeks or month & that maybe he’ll realize he’s doing the wrong thing bc he hates making decisions all of a sudden. That who knows what the future has to hold.

I had an abortion a little less than a month ago bc we both agreed it wasn’t the right timing. I’m still being affected by it today & feel more alone. I was panicking this morning about it & I caved & called him. We talked & he said I could come on Friday when I have my virtual appt so I’m not alone but that’s it. He started to get mad & said I’m not changing & that I’m ruining any possibilities with him in the future & just hung up. I don’t want to reach out to him now because I do want to show him ive changed & respect his space but I’m scared I ruined my chances with him in the future. I am not changing just because he wants me to but because I do too & I do hope he sees that. Any advice?? Do people come back to each other? I know we’re soulmates & he has a poor track record of leaving me & will just hit me up.
