5 month pp EBF and spotting ?

I am around 5 months pp and started spotting tonight. It’s not a full period and the color is deep reddish/brown. I EBF my daughter and I heard it shouldn’t be back this soon. Am I doing something wrong?? 🙁 is it normal ?? Will it affect bonding with my baby?? I’m kinda freaking out.

It's normal.
Unfortunately breastfeeding is no guarantee for your period to stay away for long. Whoever told you that, is full of bullshit.

Mine came back 2 months after birth. Im still breastfeeding 9 months later. The supply drops a little, but so far so good.

I’ve had my period back since 12weeks pp and breastfeed. I read somewhere that if you aren’t feeding/pumping every 4 hours or less your period will come back. It seemed to be true for me because my baby sleeps through the night starting at 12 weeks

Not every woman gets no period while breastfeeding. It’s just something that can happen because of hormones.
This bleeding could be ovulation bleeding or the start of your first period. 
I got my period back at 8 weeks pp. I have had very regular cycles since. I EBF and my girl eats every 2-3 hours still at 5 months old.
