Would you punish a 6 year old for kicking a nurse?
I lost my shit at my 6 year old today.
We went for her checkup and she has a cough so I was talking to the doc about it. He said she will need a COVID test, the kind that DOESNT go way up your nose, just barely inside the nostril.
She had a covid test almost a year ago, the kind that went deep in her nose and she hated it.
I explained to her many times it was not that kind, but it would barely go in her nose. She showed me with her finger and I said it wouldn't even go that far. She was fine with it, I gave her my phone to watch a show.
Once they called us back she immediately started whining at the nurse. Refusing to cooperate. The nurse was patient and so was I, I tried distracting her, showing her myself what would happen, she covered her nose and refused to even look at us.
The nurse was an old lady and told me I would have to sit her on my lap and hold her as she was not listening to the nurse.
She began KICKING the older nurse with her heavy boots and whining at her and telling the nurse she was hurting her.
So I had to pick her up, put her on my lap and hold her down while she continued to try to break free to kick the poor woman.
Once it was done, she justified her kicks by saying we hurt her. She refused to apologize.
I had to apologize to the poor woman.
On the way to the car she continued to stomp and whine about how everyone was mean and she wasn't, and kept whining.
I took her toy she brought with her.
I buckled her in and she screamed that I hurt her as my arm barely grazed the top of her head when buckling her.
Then once I got in the car she continued whining and I lost my shit and screamed at her, literally yelled so loud for her to be quiet and how embarrassing her behavior was.
She tried talking back and I screamed at her again.
We're now home and the mom guilt is rolling in hard as I barely ever yell at her.
