How do I tell my current employer I’m unhappy?
Back story:
I was a phlebotomist for about 6 years. Then Covid hit and I wanted to do something more. I decided I was going to take a chance as a billing specialist.
About 6 months ago, I accepted a position in the billing department with a company I worked for previously as a phlebotomist.
Now….
I am BORED! Depressed. Exhausted. Stressed.
I reached out to my previous employer and was basically told my position was still available if I wanted to come back….AND I DO!!
We just hired someone to do that same work that I do and I have a review coming up. I was planning on telling my current employer that I don’t feel like this is a right fit for me and that I will resign once our new person is trained.
What is an acceptable amount of time to be fully trained though?
The job is data entry. Really not hard. Some things can be confusing due to selecting correct insurances, but once you get the hang of it, it’s really crazy easy.
I plan on reaching out to my previous employer again just to stay connected and give a game plan so that my position isn’t given away.
Also we’re trying to have baby number 2 and there’s a strong possibility that I can currently pregnant; it’s too soon to test.
