Converting

I'm from a Jewish family but I wanted to know if generally speaking Jews are accepted when they convert to Christianity? I know the old saying once a Jew always a Jew but is that how Christians feel as well? Or do they accept them as Christians? I ask this Becuz I'm considering different religions and I want to know if I'de ever even be accepted elsewhere.
