God the Omnipotent Alien 👽

I grew up in a Christian household. We went to church nearly every Sunday. God was spoken about often. But it never clicked with me.

As an adult I have always struggled with my faith. I went through a period of atheism, a period of strong Christianity and faith, and am now more or less agnostic. I think I believe in divine creation, but I don’t know if it’s God or if it’s some omnipotent alien who created humans for funsies. There’s so many intricacies to the universe, so many similarities to life on earth. How a neuron resembles a nebula in space, and how a full moon seems to influence people’s behaviors (ask any first responder, teacher, or healthcare worker— weird shit happens on full moons). What am I to make of it? None of it makes complete sense. If God exists and is a kind and merciful God then why is life on Earth such fucking Hell?

I’m ranting now... but... what do you believe in? How do you have confidence in that? Do you ever question it?
