Starting to feel like it might be more than PCOS

I've been doing medicated cycles since the summer and moved onto IUIs but still having failed cycles. I respond fine to meds - only one mature follicle a cycle though - and ovulate. My numbers are good enough - estradiol, progesterone etc. Lining is thick enough.

Is this common? In my mind, the problem is getting to ovulate (and egg quality which we obviously can't see without ivf)... So what's the hold up 😩

I only have a few cycles left before my insurance renews so I'm feeling the pressure and disappointment that this might not happen for us.

Any thoughts?

I have pcos and did 2 medicated cycles and 3 iuis before moving to Ivf. I also had follicles every cycle and ovulated with trigger shots. My egg quality was shit which is why we think it wasn't working before ivf. Out of 20 eggs retrieved, I only got 2 embryos.

It was disappointing at first to only have 2 embryos but the first one we transferred is 2 years old now and I'm 31 weeks pregnant with the second, so it worked out in the end. Both were frozen transfers. We didn't do a fresh transfer because I had OHSS after the retrieval. We waited 1 cycle to give my body time to heal. It really seems like it was poor egg quality that was making it so difficult for us. I hope things work out for you though and you get your little miracle 🙏

That's what I'm afraid of. I'm sorry, that's so disappointing!! Is this in the past? Have you transferred?

Has your husband/significant other done a semen analysis? Assuming so if you’re doing IUI. But i have pcos too and responded well to letrozole but my husbands number are in the lower normal range but we were still told iui would only give us a 5-10% chance (doc calculates numbers with motility) even in the most perfect conditions. We are moving straight to IVF since we have insurance benefits- scary jump but realistically i don’t think IUI would’ve worked with us. Good luck!

Yup, so ironic when we younger did everything to prevent pregnancy and now doing everything just to have a baby 😅

For sure. Even with a perfect reproductive system, the odds aren't with us, huh?
