Why wait?!

My SO and I have been living with my father for going on 5 years now and we had our daughter last year. This year we’ve finally saved enough to buy our first home and with our taxes added to it we have more than enough. The house market is tough and stuff is going FAST. We found a gorgeous and I mean gorgeous, in budget house for us that’s a perfect drive from BOTH of our families…he wants to wait until we get our taxes back before we go for a loan because he will feel “comfortable”. We already filed our taxes but those won’t get back to us until February sometime. I just don’t understand why wait. Am I crazy? Lol
