Baby struggles to breathe when feeding?

Rebecca • Wife💍 Harrisons mommy 🥰 TTC baby #2

Hey ladies, i had my son a month ago and since he has been born he has been severely congested... or so i thought. We regularly use saline in his nose and suction but we dont get much out. We also have a humidifier on both levels in the house where he sleeps and plays that is running all day.

I also noticed when he is eating, sleeping and crying his lungs make a grunting noise and also stridor breathing sounds. For those that dont know what that is its a loud squeak kinda noise when he breathes in. We took him to a medical center because we didnt want to wait for his pediatrician appointment to get it investigated and they did a chest xray that came out normal. His lungs sound clear as well.

We had his appointment with his pediatrician yesterday. Of course his breathing sounded perfect in office but i did have video on my phone of my sons breathing while feeding. The doctor also noted the stridor and reffered us to an ENT. The doctor thinks mild laryngomalacia possibly. Now we are just waiting to hear from the ENT specialist to get an appointment.

Has anyone elses baby went through this? What was the outcome? Did they outgrow it or did they end up needing surgery? What are some ways i can help him when its bad? Thank you.
