is your baby name “meaningful”?

so i have a bunch of names that i like or have always liked. my husband won’t agree with any of them and has vetoed all of them (maybe 20 or so that i suggested). he says the name needs to be “meaningful” or some kind of family name or based on our ethnicities. like for instance if the name has a German origin he will veto it bc we are not German. We are in the US so most of the names i like are “American” names. how did you pick your babies name?
