Marginal Cord Insertion
I had my 20 week anatomy scan the other day and they said baby looks great but that I have a marginal cord insertion.
For those that don’t know, it basically just means that the umbilical cord inserts into the placenta off to the side instead of the center where it should. The main concern for the baby is growth restriction.
The doctor didn’t seem concerned about it at all but she said that we would do 1 or 2 extra ultrasounds to be sure that he continues to grow appropriately. But right now he’s right on track for growth! Has anyone else experienced this with a previous pregnancy? Or does anyone have this in their current pregnancy? Just looking for some other perspectives!
