The fact that my ex said this still irks me. Does anyone else find this disgusting or just me?

My ex husband walked out on me while I was 4 months pregnant. He said it was because he doesnt love me anymore, but I also found interesting convo with a female. And this is a baby he said he wanted too.
He left me in a mess as a single mom. I had to scramble to provide for us and became suicidal and depressed. 
One thing I remember him saying before he left and I was begging him to stay, saying pleasee I cant do this alone… and he said “you can. You are strong” .
I find that so disgusting. I cant put into words why. But those words haunt me forever.
Anyways..
After lots of hard work, my son and I are finally moving into our own place. So thats the good news. Im just so nervous. Please pray for us.

Honestly, you are so strong. But the fact that he left you, while pregnant with a child he told you he wanted and still left and callously said "you can. You are stong" is disgusting. You had no choice to be strong because of HIS choices and hes not a real man. No REAL man would abandon his family, his BABY. You’re upset because he made an excuse for hurting you and your child. He basically said “it’s okay I do this because you’re strong enough to handle it”. That’s not okay and it is disgusting. Rule number 1. Never beg a man to stay, if he wants to leave, hold the door open and let him walk, it just proves he's not worthy of you and is definitely not worthy of being a good dad to your baby. You'd never have to beg the right man to stay.
Fact: he will leave the next woman for someone else one day just like he did with you
Another fact, and this is the most important! : you CAN and you WILL thrive as a single parent, in the long run you will be happier, stress free, mentally and emotionally stronger, and will not settle for less than you deserve, you will reap double the rewards for being both parents to your baby. My son and I just got our own place a few months ago. He’s three years old. 
I left his biological dad when I was about 4 months pregnant myself. I found out he had messed with a 15 year old, but he didn’t get in trouble due to the police not reading him his rights. 
The following Father’s Day (I was about 6 months pregnant at that time) he posted a picture of the ultrasound of my son, and added an “In Memory Of” frame around it. I documented it and had my family and friends report all the posts so they were taken down. 
It’s been a tough road since, especially since losing my late partner who stepped up and took care of us for 10 months. But, my son is almost always smiling and healthy. That’s all that matters.
