When do babies start to follow you with their eyes?

My son is 6 weeks old and he has been following me with his eyes and turning his head from far across the room I am shocked! Yet he never gives me eye contact??

Answer

At 6 weeks, baby can't see far distances yet. If baby is looking in your direction, it's most likely responding to sound instead of visually tracking your movement. Baby's eyes will improve and be able to track you within the next few months
