Decorating public housing
This is probably dumb, I’m sorry if it’s a dumb post and I’ll probably delete it.
Do you think if I asked my landlord if I could paint like just three rooms of my apartment that I’d look stupid for asking? I was going to offer them to keep my deposit, paying for the paint to cover it up if I ever move out (I’m not going to be moving in the next several years if even then..) and even paint it myself the original color if there was an opportunity to move. (I would do all three tbh)
I really want to paint my sons room at least. It’s tan, and everything is done in toy story. I just wish I could paint it blue and put the clouds on the wall like in the movie. And paint the scene where buzz and woody are flying. Ugh. I feel like a bad mom because I remember my mom doing this stuff for me as a kid, and idk, I always thought it was a fun memory to look back on. Plus, we lived with my mom before we got an apartment and I was in the process of painting his room there with his favorite cartoon characters dressed as astronauts.
It’s not that good of a painting I guess, but he was able to recognize who it was.
I’ve painted my rooms every where I lived. And I’ve been paid to paint several other people’s rooms. Unfortunately my boyfriend passed away, and now I’m stuck in a public housing apartment. Possibly for the rest of my life.
You think it’s worth a shot to ask? Or should I just wait and see if section 8 housing will open? It hasn’t been open in a few years so I’m losing hope on that option. I apologize again if this is a stupid post. 🙃
