My father passed away when I was 13 and I get social security benefits from that. My mother has been living off my checks every month but not spending it how she’s supposed to. She has spent all my money on her and her bf. I turned 18 this past December and she took me to get my license only so I could have an ID to call social security and tell them to keep giving my check to her every month. Well my mother is very manipulative and toxic and she has threatened to throw away all my stuff and kick me out. I don’t have anywhere to go and everything I own is in trash bags. How can I get my check every month instead of it going to her? Will they even let me get it? It stops when I graduate in may and I want the rest of my money so I can have something when she makes me leave.
