Why would you wait until your child is starting school to stay at home? That doesn’t make any sense.

I voted yes but chuckled to myself as I did. Yes it would be theoretically awesome then because you would get your days to yourself!! What a dream! Lol.

Very vague. Do you only have the 1 child or do you have more younger ones as well? Are you and your SO planning on having more (discussing it, actively TTC, adopt, foster, or are already adding a new family member soon?) 
It doesn’t seem to make much sense to be a SAHM if you only have 1 child and that child will be at school during the day- unless you have limited pickup/drop off options, or your work schedule conflicts with your child’s school schedule! 
But in the end- it is ALL up to you and your SO!

I'd continue being a sahp even after kids are in school if we could afford it and I can convince my partner. As of right now, I'm determined to be a paraprofessional or lunch lady when they're all in school so I'd only be working when kids are physically in school. 
School schedule and most work schedules don't match up, so there will be days you need to find child care. Who takes them to school, and where do they go after school? Summer nannies can get expensive. I'd be able to continue focusing on our gardens and canning/freezing all of our produce for the year.

To me it doesn’t make sense to not work when your child goes into childcare. My idea of a stay at home parent is one who looks after very young children, so this seems a bit backwards

I am at home until my kid goes to kindergarten... He goes when he is two. And my maternity leave is actually three years, but I don't need the last year off when he is in kindergarten I have nothing to do at home then.

I'm working part-time from home until our kid goes to school (kindergarten?) at 2,5yo.
When my kid is in school I'll be working part time for another 2 months, then should go back to full-time but I'm not sure if I'm going to stay, the dynamic in my team/company is shifting and I'm not sure if I will be wanting to stay there.
