Spotting can happen during pregnancy but it shouldn’t be brushed off and considered “normal”.. It’s abnormal. If you’re pregnant, or think you are pregnant, take a test and contact your doctor. The only time I have bled with any pregnancy was during a loss.

I did, thought it was a weird period, spotted every morning for 5 days. Also lost a clot. Took a test a week or 2 later. There is a slim chance it was a twin pregnancy due to other things observed, but I have a healthy 19 month old from that pregnancy.
