Yolk sac, but no baby 7w6d - vanishing twin
Had an ultrasound at 7w6d. Found out it’s a twin pregnancy, but only one baby was showing with a HB. The second gestational sac has a yolk sac, but we were unable to see the baby. Dr says this is likely a vanishing twin, but I am hanging onto the tiny bit of hope that baby B shows up next week since we clearly saw the yolk sac. Anyone else experience this?

I’ll tell you my story. Went in at 6 weeks. Saw 3 sacs but only one sac with a fetal pole, Yolk and baby with a heart beat. Went back two weeks later and the other two appeared. The other two measured a week behind the first baby. All had heartbeats. 😁 so it is possible for the other baby to appear but after your 8 weeks with baby a, I would then agree it’s vanishing. Until then, your baby b could have fertilized later. They wouldn’t be identical but it’s possible to fertilize later.
