I was laying in bed when my waters broke. I felt a tiny popping feeling in my belly, almost like a joint clicking in my hips or something. Then felt a warm sensation and just a load of liquid coming out of me that I couldnt control lol. 
Sex is meant to be a way of trying to naturally induce labour, but may or may not work, I always think babies come when they want!

Your water won’t break with sex and it may not break on its own at all. Very few women have their water break naturally on their own (only about 15% of women). 
My water broke with my first to start my spontaneous labor. It was a tiny trickle. No pop or gush. 
With my second the doctor broke my water when I was already in active labor.
With my third my water broke on it’s own when I was already in very active labor and legs in stirrups. It was a loud pop and fluid shot across the room with a ton of force 😂. It was a precipitous labor and we almost didn’t make it to the hospital, which is why the dr didn’t break my water on their own, there just simply wasn’t any time for the Dr to do it, so it happened on its own literally seconds before baby came.

Out of 5 labors, I only had one where my water broke to start labor (my first). I happened to be on the toilet, and my belly literally had a “pop” sensation. There was meconium, so it was obvious it was my water. As I made my way to the hospital, there’d be points where I’d feel more gush out. For me, labor started right away.
