Advice what to do (job wise)
My fiancé actually asked me to get opinions he’s unsure which to do. So he currently has a job that’s 40 hours a week. Every once in awhile he will get to leave early from from work depending if they have a shortage. He makes $16.15/hr. He will make a dollar next year there but he won’t make more than $17.15 there. He has set hours/schedule there. Works with great people and the work is easy. Just wishes the pay was more. He got a job offer to work as a cca for usps (postal office) $18.92/hr. He will have a 90 day probation period so he’d have to be super careful or they could fire him within those 90 days for any reason. The schedule won’t be set at all until he’s offered a “full time position” which could take awhile but also could work really long days and hours. They told him a minimum of 3 days and could be 7 days straight just depends. Reviews he’s read they work long hours/days. In the long run usps would have good benefits and better pay but he’s worried about the non set schedule and 90 day probation period. He’s trying to decide which job. To stay at his current or take the new usps position? He got a orientation date set for the 14th for the new job and he would have to put his two weeks notice in Monday for his current. He’s unsure which to do. We have two children. He’s uncertain to leave a full time job to make more money but risk being let go within those 90 days for any reason and possibly having neither job. His current job don’t do rehires.
