18 months we took them away cold turkey and replaced with a lovey comfort item.

We’re still trying at 3 years. He’s dealing with a lot of changes right now, so we don’t want to force it. (A new baby sister, transitioning to preschool, potty training). Kind of wish we started sooner. He is definitely emotionally attached to it.

2.5. I wish I would have pulled it sooner. I was surprised at how quickly he adjusted. I think I was more reliant on it then him. I mean he loved his paci, but I think I thought he needed it more than he actually did.

We are working on getting rid of it now, at 19 months. He only takes it at bed time and nap time currently. Planning on taking it away for nap time in the next week. Then taking it away at bedtime when he's adjusted to not having it during naps.
