My husband has been friends with this woman since they were about 11 years old. She's kind of racist and manipulative, and I'm not her biggest fan, but she's my husband's friend so I am friendly with her. She's anti-vax and we believe in vaccines and have an 18 month old daughter. We haven't let her meet our daughter yet in person because she's not vaccinated.

So last night she calls both of us screaming that she has breast cancer and is having surgery and that we don't deserve to know more because we are "too selfish to let her hold our daughter." I was worried sick all night. This morning, she texts my husband and says "I don't actually have cancer, I'm fine. My implant is leaking but it's not a problem. I found out my friend has cancer last night and was freaking out, no biggie."

My husband is just like (shrug) that's just how she is but I am furious. Of course I'm relieved she doesn't have cancer but that kind of manipulative behavior is not okay with me and I don't want to interact with her at all anymore. What else is she willing to do or say if we continue to not let her hold our child without being vaccinated? Who lies about having cancer?
