Freezing Breastmilk?
I’m starting to panic about going back to work when my baby is 3 months old. We’re too late to secure a spot in daycare (and I don’t feel comfortable sending her away all day when she is so tiny) so we’ll either be doing a nanny share or nanny (not ideal as we both primarily work from home and live in a 2 bedroom apartment). I have a pretty good milk supply and have been freezing breastmilk since week 2 and now have 45 bags of varying amounts (1 oz - 4 oz, with the most being around 3.5 oz). I did some research and now feel like this is way too much. I still have almost 2 months until I go back to work. I feel like I have somehow “wasted” milk by saving so much, although I don’t know what else I could have done. I am the kind of person who likes taking notes and following instructions and feel very unsure of what I should be doing and how. Does anyone out there have a logical milk storage system I could follow? Do you just provide the frozen bags as-is to your care-giver? Will any surplus be helpful in the future if/when I start to wean?? Thank you for any advice!!
