Ladies with GD

Does this sound like low blood sugar or anything to do with GD? I have an appt. with my midwife tomorrow so I think I will ask again about a blood test.

I keep getting asked if I have GD at the hospital (even though my notes show I passed at 28w) because baby is measuring off the charts for abdomen and overall weight. When they dip test my urine it’s usually fine though.

The last week or 2 I keep feeling shaky, lightheaded and more fatigued than I feel is normal, even for late pregnancy and even though it makes me feel a bit nauseous/no appetite I will make myself eat something.

Yesterday my colleague said I sounded a bit slurred on the phone (we WFH) like I’d had a drink and I said to her I felt a bit funny so I went and made some toast/orange juice and felt a little bit (not totally) better.

My last growth scan at 36+5 (currently 37+6) they were going to do a blood test but then they booked my induction in for 39w and said a blood test wasn’t needed. I wish I’d pushed a bit more in the moment for it to be done but I didn’t.

Can you develop GD late on even if your urine usually comes back okay at check ups? I was high risk for it anyway which is why I was tested (BMI, and my sister had it all 4 of her pregnancies) but if the hospital weren’t concerned enough to follow through on a blood test I don’t know if I’m worrying needlessly 😕
