Making friends at 25... Need advice

I've been through some really hard friendships. Friends that were addicts losing their kids, me literally having to bail them out of trouble/jail and buying food for their kids, theft, etc. and I just want a "normal" friend that isn't my friend for gain... But genuinely be friend... I'm married, have a son that isn't my husbands even though we were married when he was conceived my husband and I were mutually separated. We got together at 15, married at 19, and we realized at the time we wanted different things. (For example: I wanted to move to a new area and go to college and he wanted to stay in our hometown, I wanted to start a family young and he was unsure.) my son wasn't planned but my husband is adopting him as the one night stand I had with the other guy doesn't want my son and is voluntarily signing off rights.
Anyway, I don't openly tell people about the situation because I hate feeling like such a screw up... Even though my husband and I separtated I was miserable and knew we could work things out together but at 21 my heart and mind were so conflicted. Girls act like I'm a monster and just got back with my husband to raise my son. I have zero friends. I'm so happy in life now but I would like a friend to get coffee with...
I work fulltime, do online school, don't drink or anything. I just feel like I'm always being judged and written off as a screw up when I try to make friends... Everything is fine until I bring that part up because my son is obviously not the same ethnicity as my husband =
How can I be secure in myself and prove that I am a good person I was just so torn before as was my husband and even though it was hard at first, we couldn't be any happier or more complete with OUR son. I can't regret what happened because of our son but I 100% learned so much about life in the months we were separated...ugh
