Hello all you beautiful mamas and mamas to be out there! I’m 16 weeks pregnant with my first baby and my family and I could not be any more excited for this new journey! However I seem to have an issue when it comes to getting baby gear. When I envisioned myself getting pregnant, I saw myself buying all new gear as safety regulations are constantly changing, also my first baby, I want to make sure I’m as prepared as can be and I feel like this would be the time to get new things, and reuse them should I get pregnant again later, and don’t exceed any expiration dates. Now my husband comes from a family that’s very thrifty and I feel like they judge me because I don’t want second hand gear for my first baby. There’s some things that I could probably get second hand and not really mind but they want me to get a used crib, mattress, and car seat, which I’m absolutely against. If they keep pressuring me like this, how do I politely tell them to stop meddling? Is anyone going through a similar situation? Am I crazy for not wanting to go down the used gear route?
