Teaching children anatomically correct body parts getting heat from family)

I have two year old boy girl twins, and I’m teaching them anatomically correct body parts, idk, I just thought that’s what we were supposed to do, but I am getting heat from my in-laws, they don’t think it’s appropriate.

My daughter calls her vagina her ‘gina, (I know it’s a vulva but we’ll get into more detail when she’s a bit older) and my son calls his penis his “peenie”

So my sil was changing my daughter, and my daughter points to her vagina and says “gina!” (Like vagina, without the VA,) my sil was like omg don’t say that, that’s a bad word, we call it a potato. So she “corrects” my daughter and points and says, “potato” I was like wtf

So she tells my mil and my mil was also horrified that I’m teaching such young kids such “bad words” idk I just want my kids to call them the right names, I didn’t think I was doing anything wrong.

So they told me that in their family, girls have potatoes and boys have “pishkas” (I think it’s Italian?) They told me I was “kind of a pervert”

I am absolutely not going to call it a potato and pishka, I don’t care what they did with their kids, but I want to use the correct terms

Is anyone else doing correct terms? I feel like am I maybe doing something wrong?
