Induction...

Cassy
Sorry this is kinda long but I just wanted some input.. I'm really trying to get my doctor to agree to inducing at 39 weeks, not for medical reasons but for personal reasons. My fiance is an OTR truck driver. He's only home once every three weeks normally and only for a couple days at a time. We were hoping he would be able to take two weeks off starting on my due date to hopefully insure he is here for the delivery but because of money issues I don't think that will be possible. I am scared to death he is not going to be home when it's time for me to deliver if it's not a scheduled delivery. He's missed all the ultrasounds and every Dr appointment so far because of work. This is our first child together and he is super excited about it even though he has missed the majority of the pregnancy due to being on the road. If he misses the delivery it's going to break his heart plus I really don't want to do this by myself. All my family and friends lives 4+ hours away and I doubt they come up for the delivery. I've always looked forward to going into labor naturally and all the excitement of the drive to the hospital with him but I would much rather have him here for sure and have it planned. I want our son to be healthy first and foremost, but from everything I've read 39 weeks is plenty of time for him to be fully developed and ready to meet the world especially since I've had a wonderful pregnancy with no complications. I just don't know what to do. Any opinions or comments would be appreciated...
