I just have to say this
I feel so bad for evening having these feelings but I almost envy the parents around me that have had it “easy”. We are first time parents to the sweetest little boy but these 20 months have been the hardest thing in my life. He was born unexpectedly with a rare genetic syndrome that caused hearing loss which could get worse as his ages or can stay the same. Now he’s showing some autism which is difficult in its own way. He has started early intervention with speech. We can hardly get him to eat anything, a switch flipped around 14 months old and he is VERY picky. That is also stressful. Everyone says “you can’t make him eat” which I know this but I also don’t want him to go hungry. And the phrase “he will eat when he’s hungry” does not apply to autistic children. I have two sister in laws who have children which seemed like a breeze compared to what we have had to deal with. Yes this is me complaining but I just have to get it out somewhere safe and not being judged. And yes I started Zoloft to help which it has. We’ve had a rough time 😢
