does your due date ever change?

Once you get a due date do they update it if something changes. I was dated at 6wk so I wasn’t sure if it’d change by my 20 wk anatomy scan.

If they’re going to change your due date, they will do it based on a super early ultrasound, especially if your periods are irregular. The later in the pregnancy you get the more variable your baby’s size can be, so in general they will not change you due date based on your 20 week scan.

If your baby is measuring bigger and is measuring more than 10-12 days off from your due date, they will usually change it because of their size. I was measuring a few days later than my due date at 12 weeks, and 7 days sooner at 20 weeks. But they’re keeping my original due date because it’s less than 10-12 days off

For me, my first prenatal appointment they went with last Period start date and  got how far I was.  My first ultrasound my baby was measuring 5 days ahead so that placed me at a different due date. So, they just settled with what they thought  first

They will not change your due date at the anatomy scan. They will determine your due date much earlier and that will be that.

Typically they’ll stick with due date from LMP unless an early dating scan is more than 7 days off. After that, it would be extremely rare for them to change your due date
