Only child, if you have siblings do you get along with your siblings?

Are you an only child? Did you like being an only child or wished you had siblings? If you have siblings do you get along with them? Or do you think you would've been fine being an only child?

I'm an only child, growing up was always jealous of those who had siblings. Now in my 30s and still wish I had siblings.

My sister is 5 years older and my brother is 3 years older. I get along with both of them fine but definitely closer to my sister. My brother is in the military and lives out of state. That’s part of the reason we don’t talk much. I’m definitely glad I had siblings. I couldn’t imagine being an only child.

My sister and I used to fight like cats and dogs when we were little, but I honestly have no idea what I would do without her at this point in my life.  She is the one person I know I can call at 3 am to cry to and she would never complain.  I was in the hospital unexpectedly this weekend and didn’t have my charger, she had a charger and a Valentine’s stuffed animal instacarted to my room.  I think it was the first time I genuinely smiled since I realized they were admitting me.❤️

My brother is 9 years older. We haven’t talked in almost 2 years. If we are ever at a family event in the future, I know we will get along. But we don’t talk outside of those events. When I stopped talking to my narcissistic father, I guess my brother told my sister that meant one is out of the will (me) and one more to go (her). All he cares about is money and he hopes that our parents won’t leave anything to us. Which, whatever, I work to earn money, I don’t count on someone dying for it 😳
My sister is 5 years older. She has chronic illness. Growing up it was hard, I was the youngest but my parents were always taking my sister to the hospital. Because of this I was always at a neighbors house or relatives. As I got older I understood a lot more and we got a lot closer. We are great friends to this day but VERY different people. When my parents got a divorce last year, she and my mom moved to my neighborhood so we are definitely closer (as friends) than before. 
Even with siblings and how close I am now to my sister, I am only having one child. I have infertility and would need to do IVF to transfer my last embryo if we want more. It’s very expensive and obviously not guaranteed so I’d rather those funds go towards my sons future.

So we've always fought but we've always loved each other! My sister struggles with addiction to the point she has given herself schizophrenia, she also lost her kids. Because of those choices, we are not close anymore. Shes toxic and I dont want that around my children.

Growing up, we weren't necessarily close but we have a good relationship now and I wouldn't give up having siblings for anything. Someone else who went through the life you did as a child and knows your parents like no one else does. It's great to have siblings imo

I’m the middle child of 5, and I cant imagine growing up with no siblings. We’ve had our moments, all siblings do, but overall we all get along. We havent had any big fights since we were all kids, and most of those were just my younger sister (the youngest child & born after a special needs child) being a little shithead lol.

I was an only child and I did wish I had a sibling. Luckily I had a cousin close in age and she would come over a lot to play with me and stay the night. people with siblings tell me I'm lucky cause I got everything to myself but being an only child means you don't have anyone else to deal with your parents expectations and always need friends to go do stuff with otherwise you're all alone.

I have 4 sisters. It depends on the day and everyone’s mood—sometimes we’re super mean to each other and sometimes we’re having the time of our lives hanging out. Overall I can’t imagine life without them, love them all.
