Can anyone tell me the differences between an emergency and scheduled C-section? My first was emergency and I’m planning to have a scheduled with this baby. I was fighting to stay conscious through my first after a long horrific labor and don’t remember much about it other than rocking side to side and not being able to hold my baby until we were together on another floor a couple of hours later. Will I be able to hold my baby immediately after with a scheduled? I remember being super nauseous when I was first thrown on the table and telling my husband to move because I was going to hurl. And the shaking, and shivering. I had an epidural in for almost 36 hours before they took me for surgery and my shoulders were like contracting forward of their own free will I also wasn’t cold but my whole body was trembling as if I was freezing. My whole body was in constant motion and I was SO incredibly sore all over after delivery.

I’m so hoping this time is different at least in some ways. Anything you can tell me about a planned csection would be amazing. I know each hospital is different but hopefully there are enough similarities I have something to draw off of.
