Am I wrong ?
My boyfriend and I have a one year old and 2 days ago, I accidentally left a diaper in the bathroom and it started to attract fruit flies so we have maybe 4 fruit flies - obviously nothing serious, but I’d like to keep it that way. My boyfriend and I have both brought up cleaning the room as it’s gotten a little messy throughout the past 2 days. I’ve also done a few loads of laundry in and now that it’s the weekend and my boyfriend is off work, I’ve been hoping I could get a hand with it.
My boyfriend takes night time medication that knocks him out pretty good but also makes him very hungry when they kick in. Because he’s so out of it, he’ll make food in the middle of the night and then just set the bowl or bag at the end of the bed and pile it up. Right now he has uncovered bowls, containters, carry out bags, etc. piled up. I know it sounds bad but I honestly don’t touch it unless it sits for *too long* because I don’t feel like I should have to clean up after him AND our toddler when I have to chase the toddler around all day. When he’s capable of throwing it away next day.
Today, I mentioned to him what happened and said that I want the food cleaned up. He said “oh tomorrow”. But I know him and I know that in the past he’s said that but then didn’t. There also was a time where he had a bowl hidden and it grew worms, and I cleaned it, so I don’t want that again because that was disgusting. So I said “I’m not really asking. I’m saying I want it done tonight”. And he acted annoyed and walked off to take a shower.
I just feel like it’s best to get it out of the way ASAP so we don’t end up with maggots right by the bed where all 3 of us sleep. I feel like him refusing is just being lazy and it’s annoying me. Especially when I do 98% of the other cleaning around the house too.
