Would you kick out your kid once they turned 18?

I don’t have kids but I can’t imagine kicking them out if I did. Hypothetically I wouldn’t care how old they were,
I would always let them stay. If it was a situation where they were getting much older, I’d do what i could to help motivate and encourage them, but I would never deny them a place to live or make them feel like they weren’t welcome.

Absolutely not. Even if they are an adult by law 18 year olds are still kids.

I would never kick my child out just for the sole reason being they turned 18. If they were blatantly disrespecting my household though, and with knowing the repercussions continued then yes. They would be leaving

Just like I will always have a place at my parents house, my children will always have a place at my house. I had kids knowing full well that they are a life-long commitment. I want my home to always be a welcome and safe haven for them, wherever they may be at in life.

I imagine we will do something similar to what my parents did. If you’re in school, you can live here. If you’re working, you can live here but will pay rent. My parents saved the rent I paid and handed me a tidy little sum of cash when I moved out. Unless my kids being disrespectful and making me unhappy in my own home, I see no reason they have to leave. I will also encourage them to go out and experience living on their own, though, because I learned a lot being totally independent and I think that’s quite valuable.

My mom kicked me out of the house at 1am when I was 14 because she found out I wasn’t a virgin anymore. never mind the fact my ex was abusive and forced me, that didn’t matter to her. All that matters was that I “disgusted her” and she wanted me out. She was all big and tough in her choice til I walked in the middle of the night to my grandmas house and told her “mom kicked me out can I stay here” Only now almost a decade later are we starting to try and form a healthy relationship, and if I’m honest I don’t think she’d be trying nearly as hard now with me if I wasn’t pregnant with her first grandchild. I will never truly view her as my siblings view her and she knows it’s based on how she treated me. I left of my own accord at 18 to escape it. 
So no, there’s not a thing on this planet that could ever make me put my son through what she did to me. I will never make my son feel unsafe, unloved, or unprotected in my home. Not ever.

There would have to be extreme circumstances for me to ever kick my kid out. I mean stealing abusive outrageous behavior type of deal. Im their mother and it's my CHOOSEN responsibility to guide them into healthy productive self sufficient happy individuals that can survive and thrive in this world. My Eldest is almost 14 and so far I can't picture her doing anything to make me so such a thing as toss her out.

If my kid is 18 and has a job and or going to college absolutely not, if I’m seeing that he wants to better himself and what not, he’s not going anywhere if he doesn’t need/want to. However if he has no ambition in life and is munching off of me. I’d have to give him an ultimatum. Either he gets his life together or I force him to do so. This is what I think now but I’m not sure what would happen in 14 years from now when he is 18 of course.
