Anybody have gestational diabetes and not have a big baby?

I’ve heard when u have gestational diabetes that usually means a big baby. I’m worried because I was gifted a lot of newborn clothes/diapers and feel like she won’t be able to fit them.

Everyone I know that had GD had small babies…under 6.5 lbs

I had GD. My daughter was under 6 pounds (born at 39+1).

I also had GD and my baby was 7lb13oz. My mom also did with my sister and she was 6ish pounds.

Thats definitely not true. I've had a few friends have GD and their baby's were either 7lbs or smaller, which can still fit NB size

I didn’t have GD but had a huge baby, over 9 lbs and everyone asked if I did because she was so big. From what I understand, it doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with birth weight. But even my big baby fit into NB clothes for a while!
