What strategies do you use?

It kind of depends on what you would classify as a tantrum/meltdown. My daughter isn’t a throw a fit and kick and scream type of kid. Now, she gets disappointed if something doesn’t go her way, and she’ll sulk. She also tends to challenge and disagree with us, but she doesn’t usually scream, yell, or cry about it. We usually just explain ourselves and sometimes she has to go calm herself down in her room if she’s frustrated, but after a few minutes she’ll be fine.

I accidentally clicked “several times a day,” but didn’t mean to. Also, to clarify, we don’t send her to her room if she’s challenging us, she actually started doing this because I use to go with her but now she’ll say “I need to calm down in my room,” and will go herself. She usually comes out and apologizes later on.

She doesn’t necessarily have tantrums… she just NEVER LISTENS!!!!! 🥴 She runs EVERYWHERE, climbs EVERYTHING, and never listens to a thing I say. It’s exhausting.

Oddly grateful I am not the only one. Not happy you get to join me in this journey, but relieved I am not alone 😅

Mine doesn’t do all our kicking and screaming but he will pout and huff and puff when he doesn’t get something. Occasionally he’ll whine if I don’t left him have something at the store.

Honestly, getting down on his level and being calm plus hugging is huge in calming him down.
