Lh is pretty much always present in some form it just rises at ovulation and before your period. Once you've had a positive you can stop testing, I would carry on for a few days until it was confirmed with a temperature rise but that's because I have pcos and irregular cycles so a positive opk doesn't always indicate ovulation for me it could be a false surge.
