Is extreme lower back pain a sign of labor?

I’m 39+6. I’ve had on and off back pain during pregnancy but nothing like this. I can’t sleep it hurts so bad so I’m just sitting on my yoga ball. Exhausted 😩

With both labours and during my period i get bad lower back pains. Never ever had stomach pains

It’s definitely a labor symptom, though if you haven’t had contractions yet then you aren’t quite in labor. Maybe have your partner or a friend massage your low back. You could also get a massage therapist to come to the house. If your back is really sore now that could help ease it up before the birth.
