Trying to get pregnant

So my husband and i been trying to get pregnant for a few yrs now and nothing and im meds to help me get pregnant by a obgyn but they are really to help me for my diabetes and ive been on them for yrs and my ob said he would see me with the nxt yr but myself and my husband dont believe that cus the pills havent helped yet. So my question is can i take anything over the counter to help boost things along and mayb help us get pregnant ?
