I had my mother and his mother in the room for our first son, everything went smoothly which was awesome since it was my first experience. This time I am torn as to whether or not I just want it to be my husband and I (possibly photographer) or if I want to invite my MIL again.

Disclaimer: I have never had a great relationship with my own mother and he has chosen not to continue a relationship with my son and I since he was about 4 months old. My MIL on the other hand has stepped up and is more caring and involved than my own, she if mindful enough not to overstep my boundaries as well.
