What can you tell me or advise me on when it comes to the pill?

I just started taking the pill and I'd like to hear about any side effects, etc.

As far as taking it at a set time every day, I've taken it consistently at either the time I wake up and leave it by my bed, or at lunchtime. It doesn't matter what time, as long as it's consistent. So if you do something at the same time every day, take vitamins, eat a meal, etc. that's helpful, otherwise my best friend keeps them in her handbag and has an alarm set on her phone, she's never without her bag or phone so that works for her. Also ask your healthcare provider about how 'exact' you have to be, some pills are a little more flexible and allow for a widow of a couple of hours, again it depends on the one you take! I've been on the pill for seven years,  was put on it at 14 to help manage excruciatingly painful periods. Never gotten pregnant despite rarely using other forms of contraception. I've had two long term boyfriends in the last 6 years so STDs weren't a concern for me but remember the pill doesn't protect you from them. I found that I had to experiment a little due to one pill causing me to gain a lot of weight or messed with my mood, but if you start on one recommended by your healthcare provider and have bad side effects go speak to them and they'll likely try another hormone combination or brand. They affect everyone differently so you'll find different people that love and hate exactly the same pill. You need to see how your body reacts and find a combination that works for you.

The pill  was a bad idea for me. Like the other person said it has to be taking at the same time every day. I actually conceived my oldest child while on the pill.  If you have a busy life it could be rather complexing to keep up with.

The pill was a bad choice for me personally. Mostly because you have to take it at exactly the same time every day and with working 40+ hours a week in retail and going to school part time it was literally impossible to do so. It also made me gain weight. But don't let one persons experience make the decision for you. You'll have to see how it will affect your body yourself.
