Should I bleed?

So i was about to have sex with my boyfriend for the first time and he has always made me feel comfortable with what ever we have done together so I felt comfortable making this first move, we discussed using a condom and we used lube but when we went to put it in it wouldn’t go in even when i was guiding in it . I tried going on top and when about an inch went it i looked down and i was bleeding , i assumed it was my hyman breaking but the whole situation was uncomfortable and frustrating. Should i try again with him or go to a Doctor?
